When Sunday night rolls around, what is on your mind? Do you dread waking up Monday mornings and every other day you have to work? If you are having these thoughts, it’s time for change! It’s time to start living for you, and stop living for the things in your life. What have you always wanted to do? What is holding you back?
On January 1st of 2013 I wrote this rant on Facebook:
“You roll out of bed everyday of your life regardless of if you are happy or not. Whether you love or hate what you’re doing, you still awake and do what you do. So why not roll out of bed and work towards your dreams, reach for a new goal this year. There is a clear path to what you want in life. So start by taking one step towards your goal and don’t look back! Happy New Years friends and family, here’s to a great 2013!” – Chris Nowak
When I wrote this status update I was 3 months into a new start-up business. I had quit my 6-figure income job to start a business which I knew nothing about. I was scared. I was having daily thoughts about going back to my old job. I had no idea what the future had in store for me. I did not know if I was going to be able to support my family or pay my bills the following month. However, from the second I decided to broadcast these thoughts to the Facebook world and to my subconscious-mind something changed.
I believed what I said was true, everyday I read my Facebook rant and lived by these words. I began to wake up each morning excited to be alive, ready to chase down my dreams. Yes, I still had struggles, but always looked back on what I had said to the world and it gave me a breath of fresh air. I never again thought about going back to my old job. I only looked forward to what I wanted for me and my life. 12 months later I was in negotiations to sell this same business for over $250K. I had made more in the last 12 months than have ever made in my past career working for the man. So what changed? How was I able to go from a world of doubt and fear to selling my business for a huge profit? My thoughts changed! I was not lucky, I did not know the right people. Yes, I worked hard, but I did not let fear hold me back and block my mind from allowing myself to achieve what I wanted. So what is holding you back?
What is Holding You Back – The Power of Thought
Just as you are what you eat, you become what you think. Your mind is the most untapped super-power you possess. This is not an idea, a concept or a study. It is a fact that your thoughts influence everything you do, how you feel and they determine what you will become in the future. It is not possible to think of a negative thought and a positive thought at the same time. You can only think of one thought at a time, so why not make them positive? Try this: put a huge smile on your face, it will probably be a fake smile but still make it big. Now with this huge smile on your face, try to think of something that would generally make you sad (just keep holding that fake smile). It is near impossible to think of something sad when you have a huge smile on your face.
If you want to make changes in your life, start with changing your thoughts today. What you think today, is who you are tomorrow. Your subconscious mind is always working, it never quits or stops inspiring you. Even when you are sleeping, your subconscious mind is at work. Have you ever had a dream about something you have been thinking the most about? So if your subconscious mind is always working, why not put it to work to better your life? Avoid filling your mind with fears and doubts, instead fill your mind with positive thoughts and thoughts of exactly what you want your life to look like.
Do you know what is holding you back? It’s time to change your thoughts and get rid of your fears. There is no reason to be working a job you do not love or wasting your time on useless activities as the days slip away. It’s time to start working on the life you have always dreamed of, one that you will be excited to wake up and work towards every single day.
